Details about our foster program:
What is required of you?
- Only domesticated and exotic animals are eligible for foster care. We do not place wildlife into foster homes.
- Prior experience with the species is not necessary to foster it although it is helpful. We will provide training on caring for a species that you have not cared for.
- We provide caging, carriers, bedding, food, veterinary care, hay, lighting, bowls, and proper husbandry items.
- 24/7 support by our foster program coordinator
What is required of you?
- Must be 18 years or older to be the primary caregiver and have the support of all individuals residing at the residence.
- Transportation to meet with foster program coordinator or in the event of an emergency to bring your foster directly to the veterinarian.
- In some instances, your foster may require fresh veggies, greens, etc. for feeding Zoo REC will work with you to ensure that they are provided, or you may opt to acquire them yourself.
- Providing daily husbandry and monitoring of your fosters as well as positive interactions for you and your fosters.
The application review process can take up to 7 days though usually will be completed sooner. We ask that you please do not call us for updates on your application. If you haven't heard from us after 7 days, please send an email to zoorescueec@gmail.com
